Job Description - Planning officer

Summary:  
The Administrative Officer plays a vital role in supporting the Directorate’s academic planning and institutional development functions within the Nigerian University System Management Portal (NUSMAP) framework. This position ensures the accurate and timely updating of budgetary and physical planning records, facilitates data collection for programme-level budgetary provisions, and supports accreditation, re-accreditation, and resource assessment processes. The officer contributes to strategic planning, curriculum review, and institutional collaboration initiatives, while maintaining up-to-date administrative records, including staff directories, self-study forms, and examination time-table allocations. By serving in key committees and coordinating cross-institutional linkages, the officer enhances institutional efficiency, compliance, and global academic engagement. The role demands a high level of organizational precision, attention to detail, and proactive administrative support to ensure seamless operations in alignment with NUC standards and university strategic goals.

Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain budget records and physical planning and development data within the Nigerian University System Management Portal (NUSMAP). 
- Collect, collate, and verify annual budgetary provisions for all academic programmes within the Directorate. 
- Assist in the coordination, preparation, and execution of accreditation, re-accreditation, and resource assessment activities for academic programmes. 
- Identify and facilitate linkages and collaborations with universities, institutions, and organizations to promote global academic exchange and institutional growth. 
- Regularly update self-study forms, telephone directories, and staff disposition records. 
- Serve as Member-in-Attendance on the Examination Time-table/Space Allocation Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. 
- Act as alternate Secretary to the Pre-Mock Accreditation and Resource Assessment Committee. 
- Perform administrative duties including minute-taking, memo-writing, and document preparation. 
- Monitor and retrieve the latest publications, guidelines, and journal updates from the National Universities Commission (NUC) Portal. 
- Support ongoing curriculum review and strategic planning initiatives for the University. 
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Superior Officer or the Director of Academic Planning.
