Safety & Environment Specialist (Projects & Construction HSE)

A leading upstream Exploration & Production (E&P) company is
seeking an experienced Safety & Environment Specialist to support
the safe execution of construction and brownfield project activities within
producing asset environments.

This role will provide frontline HSE oversight across project execution
sites and contractor interfaces, ensuring compliance with company standards,
Nigerian regulatory requirements, and international best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide
  site -based HSE supervision across construction and project execution
  activities
  
• Support
  implementation of Project HSE Plans and Environmental Management Plans
  
• Monitor
  contractor compliance with safety procedures and regulatory expectations
  
• Conduct site
  inspections, audits, and toolbox safety engagements
  
• Support
  Permit -to -Work (PTW) and SIMOPS coordination activities
  
• Participate in
  risk assessments including JHAs and method statement reviews
  
• Ensure
  compliance with environmental protection requirements and reporting
  standards
  
• Support
  incident investigations and corrective action tracking
  
• Monitor safety
  performance metrics and contractor HSE KPIs
  

Environmental Responsibilities

• Support
  implementation of environmental compliance programmes
  
• Monitor waste
  management and spill prevention controls
  
• Ensure
  adherence to applicable Nigerian environmental regulations
  
• Support
  environmental reporting and audit readiness
  

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 10–15
  years HSE experience in upstream oil & gas
  
• Strong
  background supporting construction and project environments
  
• Experience
  working within live operating asset environments
  
• Demonstrated
  contractor HSE supervision experience essential
  
• Experience
  supporting brownfield modification or facilities upgrade projects
  preferred
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s
  degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or
  related discipline
  
• NEBOSH
  International General Certificate required
  
• Additional
  environmental or ISO certifications advantageous
  

Preferred Skills

• Strong
  knowledge of Permit -to -Work systems
  
• Familiarity
  with Nigerian upstream regulatory requirements
  
• Incident
  investigation capability
  
• Environmental
  compliance monitoring experience
