Talentsquare has been retained on a confidential basis by a leading global entertainment company to identify a Senior Accountant / Senior Financial Analyst.
This is a high-visibility finance role working closely with the Director of Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining fidelity, transparency, and accountability across financial transactions, reporting, controls, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
This opportunity is best suited to a commercially aware chartered accountant with strong technical reporting experience and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate unexplained balances, and obtain supporting explanations.
Lead the month-end close process by reviewing revenue, direct costs, and balance sheet against plan and forecast.
Prepare monthly Revenue and EBITDA flash commentaries for Finance leadership approval.
Run consolidated financial statements and review variances in revenue, margins, and CFFO against previous months, plan, and forecasts.
Run the P&L reconciliation report across SAP, BW, and HFM.
Review and clear month-end validations and promote financial results in HFM.
Assist in budget preparation and forecasting, supporting budget holders with trends and historical data.
Monitor budgets through stress testing and variance analysis.
Review significant monthly journal entries and confirm appropriate supporting documentation.
Complete SAP OL vs LG trial balance reconciliation quarterly.
Support internal and external auditors on year-end financial and tax audits.
Review financial policies and create new processes to ensure best practices and strong internal controls, including SOX compliance.
Prepare the monthly Finance deck for result calls and support cross-functional teams with financial data analysis.
Prepare financial models to support marketing investments and artist contract advance decisions.
Maintain streaming data bank and prepare quarterly artist key market reports.
May be required to conduct royalty analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide financial intelligence.
Review tour budgets and backends, and prepare tour simulated P&L to evaluate profitability.
BSc degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Must be a chartered accountant — ACA or ACCA.
Experience:
At least 4 years of experience working as a finance analyst or senior accountant.
Strong exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, IFRS, and intangibles.
Technical Skills:
Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
Working knowledge of SAP, HFM, and Blackline.
Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation.
Experience with consolidated financial reporting and variance analysis.
Advantageous:
Knowledge of intellectual property and royalty management.
Experience in the entertainment, media, or music industry.
SOX compliance experience.
