Key Responsibilities
· Prepare, check, and correct client artwork files for print, ensuring they meet all technical specifications (bleed, trim, colour mode, resolution, etc.)
· Conduct thorough pre-flight checks on all incoming and outgoing digital files.
· Expertly manage colour processes, including CMYK, spot colours (Pantone), and colour matching to ensure brand consistency.
· Liaise with printers and external vendors to provide technical guidance, resolve issues, and ensure the highest quality of final output.
· Manage and organise digital assets, including image retouching, clipping paths, and file formatting for various print mediums (large format, packaging, magazines, etc.).
· Work closely with the creative and account management teams to advise on print feasibility, timelines, and best practices from the initial design stage.
· Troubleshoot and solve technical file-related problems efficiently.
· Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in print production.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Static Engineer, Prepress Technician, or in a similar print production role, preferably within an advertising agency, design studio, or printing house in Nigeria.
· Technical Proficiency is a MUST:
· Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
· In-depth understanding of print processes, paper stocks, and finishing techniques (lamination, embossing, die-cutting, etc.).
· Strong knowledge of colour management, pre-flight protocols, and file formats (PDF/X, TIFF, EPS).
· Experience preparing files for large-format printing (billboards, banners) is a significant advantage.
· Exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye for typography, layout, and colour accuracy.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
