Job Summary

The Venture and Investment Associate will support Idea to Funded (ITF) in connecting startups and founders with suitable investors and funding opportunities. The role involves researching investors and funding opportunities, supporting founders to become investment-ready, maintaining accurate venture and investor records, and assisting with investor engagement, venture sourcing, and ecosystem partnerships.

This is an entry-level role suited to a proactive, organized individual with strong research, communication, analytical, and relationship-management skills who is interested in startups, investment, entrepreneurship, and venture building.

Key Responsibilities

* Research and maintain a database of angel investors, venture capital firms, impact investors, development finance institutions, lenders, and other funding partners.
* Research investor interests, funding criteria, sectors, stages, ticket sizes, and relevant investment opportunities.
* Support investor and founder outreach, schedule meetings, maintain communication records, and follow up on agreed actions.
* Research grants, accelerators, competitions, equity, debt, and other funding opportunities suitable for ITF ventures.
* Support founders in identifying suitable funding opportunities and preparing applications.
* Assist with investment-readiness assessments for startups and support the preparation of pitch decks, business plans, investor one-pagers, financial information, and due diligence materials.
* Support founders in organizing and maintaining investor data rooms and other required documentation.
* Source and screen startups and founders through online platforms, communities, events, referrals, accelerators, and ITF programmes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date venture, founder, investor, and funding records in the CRM and other tracking systems.
* Support the organization of investor meetings, pitch sessions, webinars, workshops, and other ITF programmes.
* Assist with building and maintaining ITF's angel investor network, including investor research, onboarding, engagement, and deal-session support.
* Support relationship-building with accelerators, corporates, banks, investors, and other ecosystem partners.
* Prepare regular pipeline, investor engagement, venture, and funding reports for management.
* Monitor startup, investment, and funding trends and share relevant insights with the team.
* Follow up on assigned tasks, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and proactively escalate blockers or outstanding issues.
* Handle founder, investor, client, and company information with appropriate confidentiality and professionalism.
