Service Technician NOV Downhole (Stavanger)

NOV Downhole is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Service Technician to join our dynamic team at the Stavanger service center. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of downhole drilling tools, supporting operations that are critical to the offshore oil and gas industry. You’ll work in a collaborative and high-tech environment that emphasizes safety, quality, continuous improvement engineers, and supply chain teams to maintain reliable operations and minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly support efficient workshop performance and high-quality service delivery to offshore customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repair and maintenance on downhole drilling equipment
• General workshop duties: cleaning, prepping tools for NDT inspection, dispatch preparation
• Operate workshop service and lifting equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow and promote QHSE standards
• Participate in regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance routines

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical background (e.g. car mechanic)
• Fluent in English
• Basic computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Nice if you have

• Working experience as a Service Technician on drilling tools
• Familiarity with mud motors
• Norwegian language skills (spoken/written)
• Forklift license (T4, T5, T8)
• Crane license (G4)
• Knowledge of HSE standards
