About RUSH
RUSH is an integrated design and technology studio. We design and build software with enterprise clients. Delivery sits with mixed teams of engineers, designers, and strategists.
Values: Put people first. Push the boundaries. Play the long game. Say it like it is. Live for the RUSH.
The AI Chapter runs two key service lines. This role leads Enablement: programmes that discover where organisations, people and tools are in terms of AI maturity, teach against real workflows, leave artefacts the organisation keeps using, and stay on long enough that the skill and culture holds.
About the role
With proven demand for our AI Enablement service shaped through successful real-world engagements, we are now looking to scale the practice. You will focus primarily on defining and refining the existing AI Enablement service and processes, supporting pre-sales and assisting in overseeing the delivery of the engagement : scoping client needs, contributing to proposal solutions, ensuring delivery quality, and applying the chapter’s enablement methodology on the ground, with the potential to lead and evolve the service offering as the practice scales.
You will drive the team members through discovery interviews, leadership sessions, cohort clinics, and playbacks. Engagements vary in scale; we often begin with targeted discovery or a pilot training session to prove value before moving into broader leadership and cohort-based programmes covering day-to-day workflows (finance, operations, agronomy, technical teams, etc.).
You’ll design practical artefacts that teams use immediately: playbooks, competency baselines, and bespoke AI agents, tools, or workflows that empower teams to work effectively without RUSH needing to be present in every session.
What you will do
- Maintain delivery excellence. Ensure high quality across all enablement engagements, adhering to and continuously refining our core methodology and best practices in practice.
- Shape and sell. Lead technical pre-sales, discovery, and proposal development. Guide clients from an initial request to a structured programme with defined cohorts, measurement, and clear next steps, identifying upsell opportunities across RUSH services.
- Cover at least two of the three layers of an engagement. Leadership (organisational change); company-wide uplift (baseline, competency, L&D), optionally bringing in support to run the on-the-ground training programmes.
- Design and facilitate programmes. Leadership calibration, competency baseline, clinics on real workflows, leave-behind playbooks, optional retainers.
- Measure. Whether people are working differently after the programme, reported as such.
- Hand work across the chapter. When a cohort surfaces a build-shaped opportunity, brief the Innovation Lead. Keep the Enablement engagement intact.
- Manage and resource engagements. Lead and drive overall delivery while shaping team resourcing for each project, pulling in other team members (engineers and consultants) when necessary to ensure successful outcomes and set the foundation to scale and evolve the practice.
What you will bring
- Designed and run capability programmes in organisations, including after the first workshop. Able to say what stuck and what did not. An understanding of Capability Maturity Models and how to apply them.
- Leadership alignment: Skilled at guiding executive and leadership teams on setting realistic expectations, managing risk, understanding the limits of automation, and recognizing why one-off training isn’t enough.
- Enterprise constraints: approved tools, confidentiality, what must not go into a public model, sponsors and blockers.
- Clear comms: proposals, playbooks, session plans, playback notes.
Nice to have
- Able to run workshop or clinic sessions for diverse audiences, including technical teams (e.g., engineers or I&D teams focusing on AI-assisted development, agents, approved tooling, and data handling) and knowledge workers (e.g., focusing on personal productivity, team knowledge management, and AI-powered shared workflows).
- Built with current AI tools: Copilot-class assistants, custom GPTs / agents, structured prompting, a basic check of whether an agent is any good.
- New Zealand or Australian enterprise experience.
- Competency frameworks, L&D measurement, or change programmes you can point to.
- Microsoft Copilot / M365 tenant reality (licences, what is turned on, what IT will allow).
- Discovery and advisory: interviews, synthesis, a recommendation a CFO or GM will sit with.
- Facilitation in mixed rooms (executives and practitioners in the same week).
