We are seeking a Commercial Lead to champion best-practice commercial management on major infrastructure projects. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering safer, more efficient transport solutions that benefit New Zealanders every day.

Join us as a Commercial Lead, driving commercial excellence across major infrastructure projects. You’ll lead commercial strategies, guide procurement, and support project teams to deliver safer, more efficient transport for New Zealand.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial delivery strategies for projects
  • Oversee procurement and contract management
  • Mentor project leaders on commercial matters
  • Manage risk, budgets, and contract compliance
  • Resolve commercial challenges and disputes

Appointment base salary is from $173,842 to $191,226 depending on relevant knowledge and experience. Along with our other benefits, we offer 5 weeks annual leave, and a Life, Income Protection and Critical-illness Insurance scheme available for all permanent employees.

You’re a commercially savvy leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys collaborating with diverse teams. You bring a strong track record in procurement, contract management, and project delivery, with the ability to influence outcomes and mentor others.

In addition, you’ll bring

  • Strong commercial and procurement expertise
  • Project management and leadership experience
  • Proven contract negotiation and dispute resolution skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in transport infrastructure

We lead the design and implementation of best practice commercial management business improvement and provide commercial support to for NZTA’s Transport Services portfolio.
