Job Description - Head of Group Security


The Head of Group Security and Networks leads the company’s security strategy, ensuring information assets are protected and security risks are managed effectively. This role oversees the security team, providing leadership, training, and budget management while acting as the key security contact across the business. It facilitates risk assessments, handles security and network escalations, and manages external security providers.

A key responsibility is driving security innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and aligning security with enterprise architecture. The role ensures security programs are implemented, monitored, and reported to executives while maintaining compliance with regulations. It also provides strategic risk guidance for IT projects and develops security metrics to enhance effectiveness.

Building a strong security culture is essential, ensuring employees and contractors comply with policies and participate in security awareness programs. The role also oversees network security, maintaining infrastructure, implementing zero-trust architecture, and ensuring disaster recovery readiness.

Additionally, the position manages security operations, responds to incidents, and protects company assets. It liaises with law enforcement and advisory bodies to strengthen security posture while overseeing governance and performance of external security suppliers.
