The Opportunity


We are looking for a proactive and passionate Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, driving continuous improvement, and supporting leaders to create a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture.

Ritchies Transport is one of New Zealand’s largest privately owned transport operators, providing bus and coach services across the country. Founded in 1935, the company has grown from a small family-run business into a major player in public transport, school bus services, and charter travel.



Ritchies operates urban bus networks in several regions, including Auckland, Queenstown, and Dunedin, as well as offering long-distance coach services and tourism transport. Known for its focus on safety, reliability, and customer service, the company plays a key role in connecting communities and supporting both daily commuters and the tourism industry.



About the role


Provide expert health, safety and wellbeing support across the business by advising managers, ensuring legislative compliance, conducting audits and risk assessments, investigating incidents, delivering training, promoting a positive safety culture, and driving continuous improvement through effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.



What you offer



  • Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.

  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

  • Strong investigation and risk management skills.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and reporting systems.

  • A relevant qualification in Health & Safety (or working towards one) is desirable.

  • A current full New Zealand Driver Licence.
