An exciting opportunity for a Library & Council Services Assistant position in the Howick Local Board based at Flat Bush Library in Ormiston Town Centre.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

In these customer-focussed roles, you will be contributing to the day-to-day running of the frontline library service. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and customers to enable a great experience. We want to be known for our outstanding customer service. You will be working closely with our local community through a range of programmes, from children's activities to supporting and/or delivering exciting learning programmes and activities that are driven by community need. 

This is a fixed term (20 hour) opportunity until May 2027, will be working Sunday (10 am to 5 pm), Wednesday and Thursday (10 am to 6 pm) with flexibility required as we are open during public holidays.

• Strong communication skills

• Comfortable with technology and able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices that are available at the library


• Experience working with children and young people

We expect to appoint the successful candidate at a salary of between $65-$77K depending upon skills & experience.
