Job Description - Practice Support Team Lead

About the Role:


We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Practice Support Team Lead to provide hands-on leadership across our integrated Practice Support wahanga. Reporting to the Data and Digital Manager, you will strengthen team performance, provider relationships, compliance, quality improvement and funder reporting while helping teams work cohesively across functions.



  • Lead and support multidisciplinary teams through clear expectations, coaching, collaboration and shared accountability.

  • Work closely with practice teams to strengthen service quality, consistency, patient pathways, auditing and accreditation readiness.

  • Oversee the coordination and review of accurate, timely statistical and contract reporting.


•  Use data, relationships and sector knowledge to identify trends, address issues early and support equitable, measurable improvements for patients and whanau.

Skills and experience needed for the role:


Ideally five years’ experience in healthcare operations, clinical support, service coordination or a comparable leadership role in a health or community setting.



  • A tertiary qualification in healthcare, nursing, health administration or a related field.

  • Significant experience supporting, coordinating or leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality and consistent outcomes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, organisation and prioritisation skills.

  • Proven ability to work across teams, strengthen shared ways of working and support change, quality improvement and accountability.

  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Maori, equity and culturally appropriate service delivery.

  • Confidence using business technology and data to support reporting, decision-making and service improvement.


•  Knowledge of primary care systems, healthcare regulation, accreditation requirements such as Cornerstone, or PHO reporting environments would be an advantage.
