Job Description - Retail Operations Coordinator

Our Retail Operations & Transformation team are laser-focused on critical metrics—driving SAP support, efficiency of in-store operations, checkout performance and play a key role with new store openings & ownership changes across all three banners.


 


Te Tūranga – About the role


As our Retail Operations Coordinator, you’ll be the first point of contact supporting store openings, refurbishments, and Change of Ownership (COO) activity across our network.


Operating as a retail operations helpdesk, you’ll triage and resolve queries, support store teams through key transitions, and ensure operational readiness from pre-opening through to post-go-live stabilisation.


You’ll work closely with Retail Operations, Property, Membership and Programme Teams to deliver consistent support and seamless store transitions.


 


Ngā kawenga – What you’ll be doing



  • Act as the primary helpdesk for store opening and COO operational support

  • Log, triage, resolve or escalate queries through support channels

  • Support stores during readiness, opening, and stabilisation phases

  • Assist Operators and Store Leadership with systems, processes, and operational readiness

  • Maintain accurate records of issues, actions, and outcomes

  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement

  • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver consistent operational support

  • Support refurbishment and change initiatives across the network


 


He kōrero mōu – About you


You’re a practical, solutions-focused operator who thrives in fast-paced retail environments. You’ll bring:



  • 2–4 years’ experience in retail operations, store support, or coordination roles

  • Experience supporting store openings, refurbishments, or transitions

  • Strong understanding of grocery or multi-site retail operations

  • Experience working with systems (SAP or similar) and troubleshooting issues

  • Proven ability to prioritise, triage, and resolve operational challenges

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support diverse stakeholders

  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail

  • A customer-first, store-first mindset
