Some communications roles are mostly content. Some are mostly strategy. This one sits in the middle of a lot of moving parts and helps keep a busy communications function running well.
Pinnacle Midlands Health Network is looking for an experienced senior communications advisor to join our small but mighty communications and engagement team. This is a senior hands-on role with real breadth. It combines writing, editing and communications advice with website and newsletter publishing, collateral and supplier coordination, project support, quality control and the day-to-day operational discipline that keeps important work moving.
It’s a role for someone who enjoys variety, can think clearly under pressure, and knows that great communications work is often equal parts judgement, relationships, systems and follow-through.
This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week.
About the role
You’ll work across the organisation to support a wide range of teams, projects and priorities. One day you might be drafting or editing staff or practice-facing communications, planning content for an organisational initiative, or helping a team turn a rough idea into clear, effective communication. The next you might be coordinating a newsletter, updating website content, briefing a supplier, managing collateral requests, proofing a key document or keeping a communications project on track.
You’ll also play an important role in keeping our communications workflows, publishing processes and quality standards running smoothly. This role provides continuity, calm and practical expertise in a fast-moving environment, and suits someone who can hold multiple threads at once without losing sight of quality, audience or detail.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who:
is an excellent writer, editor and proofreader
can confidently advise others on how best to communicate with different audiences
is highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines
has strong experience in website content management, newsletter production and communications delivery across a range of channels
brings sound judgement, initiative and a practical, solutions-focused approach
enjoys working with people across an organisation and building trusted relationships
understands that some of the most valuable communications work happens behind the scenes, in the systems, processes and quality checks that keep everything on track
Experience in health, the public sector, not-for-profit or other complex stakeholder environments would be an advantage, but most important is your ability to write well, think clearly, manage moving pieces and deliver consistently high-quality work.
