Christchurch CBD
Full time, 37.5 hours
12-month fixed-term parental leave cover with potential to become permanent
$70,000-$80,000 + 3.5% KiwiSaver + free medical insurance + + car park + phone/laptop + EAP
At Opes Partners, we help everyday Kiwis build wealth through property, and we’re looking for a Social Media Manager (Content Creator) to help bring that story to life online.
This is a hands-on social media role for someone who knows how to turn ideas into content people actually want to watch, share and engage with. You’ll own our organic social presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, and work closely with our Head of Marketing to grow reach, strengthen trust and keep Opes top of mind with our audience.
You’ll be joining a brand with real momentum. We’ve already built an audience of 32,000 followers on Instagram, 40,000 subscribers on YouTube and 20,000 followers on TikTok, and we want someone who can help take that even further.
Why join Opes?
- Competitive salary package with strong benefits, including 3.5% KiwiSaver, free medical insurance, phone/laptop and EAP
- Real creative ownership with room to pitch ideas, test formats and influence direction
- A lively, supportive team that celebrates wins and milestones
- The chance to work on a high-growth NZ brand with a clear purpose
- A fixed-term opportunity with the possibility of becoming permanent
What you’ll be doing
- Own and manage the organic social content calendar, planning 2-4 weeks ahead across key channels
- Develop fresh content ideas, write scripts and take concepts through sign-off
- Film, edit and produce engaging video-first content for social platforms
- Repurpose content across channels, including turning podcasts and long-form content into short-form social assets
- Stay on top of trends, platform updates and algorithm shifts, then apply those insights in a practical way
- Report on performance regularly and use data to refine content decisions
- Partner with the Head of Marketing on content pillars, platform mix and channel strategy
- Support broader marketing activity over time, including EDMs and website updates
- Create content within financial services compliance requirements
What success looks like
- Our social channels are active, consistent and strategically planned
- Content is engaging, on-brand and built for each platform rather than copied and pasted
- Performance insights are translated into better creative and stronger channel growth
- Opes show up as a trusted, informed and relevant voice for everyday Kiwi property investors
What we’re looking for
You’ll likely bring 3-5 years’ experience in a social media, content creator or similar role, either in-house or agency side.
You’ll also have:
- Hands-on experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok
- Strong videography and editing skills - iPhone-level filming is absolutely fine if the content is sharp
- A good instinct for what performs on social, balanced with a data-driven mindset
- Confidence using social platforms, scheduling tools and content workflows
- The ability to bring ideas forward, take feedback well and keep momentum
- An understanding of compliance considerations in content creation
It would be a bonus if you also have a marketing degree or equivalent experience.
Who you are
- Organised, reliable and able to keep multiple content streams moving
- Trend-aware without chasing every trend for the sake of it
- Personable and collaborative, with the confidence to work across different personalities
- Adaptable, resilient and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
- Someone who enjoys both the creative side of content and the discipline behind performance
