Venue Supervisor

We're looking for a community-minded and customer-focused Venue Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of Papamoa Community Centre.

This is a highly varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be the face of the venue, building strong relationships with customers, community groups and stakeholders while ensuring the centre remains welcoming, safe, well maintained and ready for use. You'll also play a key role in driving venue utilisation, identifying opportunities to attract new users and ensuring every customer enjoys an exceptional experience.

About the role:

As Venue Supervisor, you will:

• Oversee the day-to-day operation and presentation of Papamoa Community Centre.


• Deliver outstanding customer service and respond professionally to enquiries and feedback.


• Build strong relationships with local community groups, organisations and stakeholders.


• Coordinate bookings and support customers to get the most from the facility.


• Identify opportunities to increase venue utilisation and community participation.


• Work closely with Tauranga City Council, Papamoa Library staff and other partners to ensure the venue continues to thrive.


• Monitor venue performance and provide reporting on venue activity and utilisation.


• Support the delivery of a safe, accessible and welcoming environment for all users.

Hours of work will be 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts ranging between 8.30am and 3.00pm.

About You:

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and creating positive experiences. You're proactive, organised and able to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

To be successful, you'll have:

• Experience in a venue, facility, community, hospitality or customer-facing environment.


• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.


• Strong administration and organisational abilities.


• Confidence using Microsoft Office and business systems.


• The ability to work independently and take initiative.


• Experience building positive relationships with customers, community groups and stakeholders.


• Physically fit and capable.


• A current First Aid Certificate, or the ability to obtain one.
