Job Description - Instrument Engineer

The Instrument Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems used to measure and control industrial processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Knowledge of instrumentation basics and industry standards
Ability to read P&ID, hook -up, and single -line drawings.
Familiar with standard instrumentation tools and equipment.
Experience with transmitters, switches, control valves, and gauges.
Skilled in calibration for flow, level, pressure, and temperature.
Perform calibration onsite and in workshop settings.
Conduct loop checking and troubleshooting.
Check and handle control system cards (input/output).
Adjust and work with control valves and shut -off valves.
Deal with all types of instrument switches.
Follow all the company and client safety rules and guidelines.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
Report issues to supervisors promptly and clearly.
Follow instructions from E&I foreman and supervisors.
Support other sections with control system equipment.
Prepare spare part lists and request necessary materials.
Maintain proper housekeeping after job completion.
Ready for emergency and shutdown work at any time.
Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely.
Comply with all company and client regulations and policies.

Requirements

Education / Professional Qualification:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum +10 years’ experience of a refinery maintenance.

Experts and Skills:

Excellent Command of oral and written English Language.
Strong understanding of measurement and control principles.
Knowledge of automation and process control systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
Familiarity with industry codes, practices, and regulations.
Competence in calibration and testing of instruments.
Skilled in identifying and resolving technical issues.
Awareness of safety systems and risk assessment processes.
Proficiency in using engineering design and documentation tools.
Experience with maintenance and asset management systems.
Reliable, detail -oriented, and able to work independently or in teams.
