IT Application Officer should be able to develop, manage, and troubleshoot computer programs. They identify and analyze IT problems and needs for the company and develop individual programs that make up software and assemble those programs in a way that meets company needs. Moreover, ensure computer applications run smoothly, troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, create new applications as well as training new users on how to use applications effectively. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for maintaining and updating application software, as well as developing new applications to meet the needs of our users.
The primary responsibility of an IT Application officert is to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support IT applications and software systems that meet the needs of the organization.
He/she must use his/her technical knowledge and expertise to ensure the applications are operating correctly and are kept up to date. Additionally, he/she must have strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any IT issues that may arise and must be able to interact effectively with other IT personnel, all stakeholders, and end-users.
Day-To-Day Operations
§ Recommending improvements to existing applications or assisting in designing new applications to meet specific business needs.
§ Creating reports on project status, including development timelines, and identifying potential problems that may cause delays in completion.
§ Communicating with clients to clarify requirements and ensure satisfaction with results.
§ Assisting in designing and developing new applications based on client needs and preferences.
§ Coordinating with IT support team to troubleshoot technical issues with existing applications.
§ Preparing proposals for new software development projects, including identifying potential clients and creating detailed sales presentations.
§ Providing technical support and troubleshooting problems with existing applications.
§ Working with clients to design custom applications to meet their unique business needs.
§ Performing quality assurance testing on new applications to ensure they meet industry standards for functionality and usability.
Responsibilities
§ Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned applications, providing Tiers 2 and 3 support
§ Respond to user tickets and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
§ Diagnosing and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating to Tier 3 support when necessary.
§ Train new users in application features and functionality of new releases.
§ Create and maintain documentation for all applications.
§ Work with vendors to resolve technical issues and coordinate upgrades of all applications.
§ Serve as a liaison between business units and IT, gathering requirements and documenting business processes.
§ Configure applications to meet business needs.
§ Test application changes and updates prior to implementation.
§ Monitor application performance and identify potential issues.
§ Assist with data migration in IT application related projects.
§ Provide after-hours support on a rotating basis whenever required.
§ Understanding responsibilities with regard to information ownership, classification, accountability, and protection of information assets.
Continuous Improvement
§ Ensure a working culture of continuous improvement through a process of quality assurance among the Port Control Officers
§ Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global best standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction
