Logistics Engineer

Job Description - Logistics Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid Support & Feasibility Analysis – Lead
    end-to-end logistics inquiries and feasibility studies during the project
    bidding phase, delivering cost estimates and
    comprehensive feasibility reports covering shipping routes, port resources, transport
    options, route survey, and import duty/tax exemption policies.

  • Logistics Service Procurement – Manage the procurement
    of logistics services, covering supplier pre-qualification/registration, tender
    documentation, and participation in or facilitation of the bidding process.

  • End-to-End Operations Management – Coordinate and
    supervise the full spectrum of logistics operations, encompassing Customs
    system registration, tax/duty exemption applications, export customs clearance,
    marine transport, import clearance, and inland delivery in the destination
    country. Oversee EPC/logistics subcontractors to ensure alignment with project
    schedules, track logistics status in real time, and promptly address any
    abnormal incidents or
    emergencies.

  • Cargo Insurance Management Arrange appropriate cargo insurance coverage, ensure compliance with insurer
    requirements throughout project execution,
    and
    file timely claims with insurers when necessary.

  • Government &
    Regulatory Liaison – Liaise with relevant government authorities in the project
    country (e.g., Customs Administration, Investment Authority,
    Transport Bureau, Ministry of Finance) to obtain necessary permits, including import licenses, transport permits, and customs duty
    exemptions


Requirements


  • Education – Full-time bachelor’s degree or above in
    Logistics, International Trade, Engineering Management, or a related
    discipline.

  • Experience – Minimum of 7 years of cumulative
    experience in EPC project management or international trade, with at least 5
    years specifically dedicated to logistics management.

  • Domain Knowledge – Solid understanding of logistics
    and procurement processes; a background in the renewable energy industry is a
    strong plus.

  • Regulatory Familiarity – In-depth knowledge of
    international import/export procedures, Incoterms, and customs policies.

  • Language Skills – Excellent proficiency in English,
    with the ability to use English for daily communication, negotiation, and
    contract signing.

  • Soft Skills – Strong logical thinking, outstanding
    organisational and communication abilities, and proven teamwork skills, with
    the capacity to collaborate effectively with both internal and external
    stakeholders.

  • Work Location –
    Willingness to be based in Oman and to undertake assignments at overseas
