About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and professional Optometrist to join our retail optical team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high -quality eye care and accurate prescriptions to our patients in a friendly, efficient environment.
Primary Duties
• Perform comprehensive eye and vision exams.
• Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses).
• Diagnose and treat common vision problems and eye diseases.
• Update patient electronic health records accurately.
• Advise patients on proper eye care and lens options.
• Optical Measurements: Perform precise facial measurements, including pupillary distance (PD) and segment height, to ensure exact optical center alignment for visual correction.
• Quality Control: Conduct rigorous inspections of finished eyewear to verify optical clarity, lens power, and frame alignment prior to dispensing to the patient.
• Technical Knowhow: Understands the technical benefits of specific lens designs (e.g., progressive, bifocal, high -index) and protective treatments (e.g., anti -reflective, UV, blue light filters) in the context of patient eye health.
• Fit Verification: Ensure eyewear is positioned correctly on the patient’s face, verifying that all adjustments meet comfort and clinical standards.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient eyewear specifications and measurements in compliance with practice policies.

• License: Valid and current state license to practice optometry.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in an optical retail setting or ophthalmic lab.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with a lensometer, digital edger, and frame -adjusting tools.
• Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of optical physics, frame anatomy, and lens materials.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision when working with measurements, numbers, and delicate equipment.
• Communication: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and patiently to patients.
