 Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for banking and financial data, ensuring high-quality data visualization. --Must

Build and optimize SQL-based ETL pipelines, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to support reporting and analytics requirements. --Must

Manage on-premise Power BI Report Server, automate report refreshes, implement Row-Level Security (RLS), and optimize report performance--Must

Main Role (Overall accountability):We are looking for a highly skilled Power BI Developer with expertise in dashboard development, data engineering, and SQL-based ETL to support the Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) at Bank Muscat. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing high-quality Power BI dashboards, ensuring optimized data pipelines, and maintaining on-premise reporting solutions using SQL Server. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Power BI dashboard development along with proficiency in SQL-based data transformations. The candidate must have rich experience in the banking domain, workingwith financial and transactional datasets. Omani nationals are prefered with the needed expertise
Principal Accountabilities:Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards that effectively visualize financial and banking data.• Work with on-premise Power BI Report Server to publish and maintain reports.• Develop SQL-based ETL pipelines to process and structure data for Power BI reports.• Optimize T-SQL queries and stored procedures for performance and data accuracy.• Implement row-level security (RLS) and governance controls in Power BI.• Design and maintain data models (star schema, snowflake) for reporting efficiency.• Automate data refresh processes and optimize report performance.• Collaborate with BIU team leads to align reports with banking business needs.• Experience with SAS will be an added advantage, especially for data transformations
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Required:
• 5+ years of experience in Power BI dashboard development, data modeling, and SQL-based ETL.• Strong hands-on expertise in DAX, Power Query, and report performance optimization.• Extensive experience in the banking domain, working with transactional and financial data.• Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing) for data processing.• Knowledge of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL workflows
