Relationship Officer - Sohar

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

To manage and grow a portfolio of SME liability accounts by
identifying income-generating opportunities, maintaining strong client
relationships, and contributing to the Bank’s strategic objectives. The role
involves developing business plans, securing deposits, and ensuring adherence
to credit and operational policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities

Business Development

•            Identify
potential clients and develop income-generating opportunities in defined
markets and industries.

•            Create and
maintain an annual business plan and sales budget for the assigned portfolio.

•            Promote
liability products to meet sales targets and contribute to overall branch and
departmental performance.

Portfolio & Relationship Management

•            Manage a
portfolio of SME customers to ensure account profitability and client
retention.

•            Conduct
regular client reviews and propose solutions that meet customer needs and align
with Bank strategy.

•            Maintain
high levels of customer satisfaction and handle queries and complaints in a
timely manner.

Risk and Compliance

•            Ensure
compliance with the Bank’s Group Credit Policy, operational guidelines, and
regulatory requirements.

•            Monitor
account activities, identify risk exposure, and escalate potential issues
appropriately.

•            Ensure
documentation is accurate and complete for all customer accounts.

Operational Excellence

•            Drive
continuous improvement through innovation, automation, and digital solutions
where needed.

•            Collaborate
with internal teams to ensure smooth processing of transactions and service
delivery.

•            Maintain
accurate records and reports of client activities and performance against
targets.

Learning & Development

•            Stay
updated on Bank products, services, and industry trends.

•            Participate
in learning and development initiatives to build professional capabilities.

•            Mentor
junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.

Process Innovation, Automation & Digitalization:

•            Drive
continuous process improvement through innovative, automated, and digital
solutions once required

Business Control & Governance

•            Ensure
adherence to the bank's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry
standards in all operational activities.

update oneself through knowledge acquisition, on-the-job training, or project
involvement; advocate and support others to do the same.

Requirements

• Omani Nationality only
  
• Bachelor's
  Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Accounting,
  Economics, or a related field.
  
• Minimum
  5 years of banking experience, preferably in SME Banking, Business
  Banking, or Retail Relationship Management. Experience in liability
  products, customer acquisition, and portfolio management is preferred.
