Sustainability & ESG Manager

SUMMARY OF
ROLE:

The role supports the implementation and executions of the
Bank’s Sustainability and ESG agenda across strategy, governance, risk
management, products, and operations. It ensures adherence to local and
international ESG and sustainability requirements, supports the integration of
ESG and climate risks into enterprise and credit processes, and contributes to
sustainability reporting and monitoring. The role assists in stakeholder
engagement, supports regulatory compliance, and helps promote a culture of responsible
and ethical banking across the Bank.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities

ESG Strategy & Implementation

•             Ensures
end -to -end implementation of the Bank’s ESG and Sustainability agenda across
strategy, governance, risk management, products, culture, and operations.

•             Translates
ESG strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and follow -up actions
across business units.

•             Liaise
alignment of ESG initiatives with the Bank’s overall strategy and national
sustainability priorities.

ESG Frameworks & Governance

•             Developing,
implementing, and maintaining the Bank -wide ESG and Sustainability frameworks,
including policies, procedures, governance structures, committee support, and
Board reporting inputs.

•             Maintain
updates to ESG policies and procedures in line with evolving regulatory and
best practice standards, including ESG governance and related matters.

Regulatory Compliance

•             Ensure
compliance with applicable local and international ESG, climate, and
Sustainability regulatory requirements, supporting regulatory engagement,
supervisory reviews, and audit requests.

•             Monitor
changes in ESG -related regulations and support timely implementation across the
Bank.

•             Prepare
responses for regulatory inquiries and examinations related to ESG matters.

ESG Risk Integration

•             Support
integration of ESG and climate -related risks into enterprise risk management,
credit assessment, portfolio monitoring, stress testing, and underwriting
processes in coordination with Risk, Credit, Finance, and Compliance functions.

•             Assist in
developing ESG risk indicators and monitoring tools for portfolio -level
assessments.

•             Support
identification and escalation of ESG -related risk exposures and gaps.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

•             Monitor
eligibility criteria, KPIs, internal controls, and contribute to impact
measurement and reporting for sustainable finance activities, ensuring data
quality and transparency.

•             Prepare
periodic ESG dashboards, management reports, and sustainability disclosures.

•             Maintain
audit -ready documentation for ESG and sustainable finance activities.

Management Reporting

•             Prepare
ESG updates for Senior Management and the Board on ESG strategy, climate risk,
sustainability trends, and regulatory developments.

•             Compile
data and insights for Board papers, committees, and management presentations.

Stakeholder Engagement

•             Assist in
representing the Bank on ESG and Sustainability matters with regulators,
customers, industry bodies, and internal stakeholders, and support ESG -related
partnerships and initiatives.

•             Coordinate
with internal departments to ensure alignment on ESG -related initiatives and
communications.

•             Participation
in ESG forums, working groups, and industry engagements.

ESG Culture & Awareness

•             Promote
ESG awareness, accountability, and capability building across the Bank,
contributing to a culture of ethics, sustainability, and responsible banking
while supporting management of reputational and greenwashing risks.

•             Support
delivery of ESG training and awareness sessions across business units.

•             Contribute
to internal communication initiatives to embed ESG principles in day -to -day
operations.

•             Drive
continuous process improvement through innovative, automated, and digital
solutions once required

Business Control & Governance

•             Ensure
adherence to the bank's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry
standards in all operational activities.

Self/People Development & Continuous Learning:

•             Continually
update oneself through knowledge acquisition, on -the -job training, or project
involvement; advocate and support others to do the same.

Requirements

• Omani
  nationality only
  
• Bachelor’s
  degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Environmental
  Studies, Sustainability, ESG or related field.
  
• Minimum
  5–7 years of experience in banking, finance, risk, sustainability, ESG or
  related fields.
