Job Summary


Responsible for reviewing and investigating AML transaction monitoring alerts and referrals, supporting the Risk Classification Program, coordinating AML compliance across business units and subsidiaries, preparing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to AMLC, and enhancing transaction monitoring scenarios to ensure compliance with AML regulations and controls.



 


Key Responsibilities



  1. Review and evaluate recommendations of the branch and other business units on accounts/ transactions triggered by the AML Transaction Monitoring System

  2. Coordinate with the branch/ business units in the collation and submission of information and documents related to the alert subject for STR

  3. Review the documents submitted by the branch. Once the required documents are complete, accomplish the STR templates for processing

  4. Route the memo for approval and concurrence of the AML Committee members on the filing of STR via the Robotic Process Automation

  5. Upon approval the AML Committee seek approval from Unit Head to transmit the STR to AMLC in a systematic and timely manner

  6. Recommend alert temporary deactivation or closure and stating the reason for such based on the risk profile of the client

  7. Submit the Summary of Suspicious and Non-Suspicious Alerts for review, approval and notation of Unit Head, Senior AML Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, respectively


 


PROCESS REFERRALS FROM BRANCHES AND OTHER BUSINESS UNITS



  1. Aid the branches and other business units on their referrals for potential money laundering instances for proper enhanced due diligence and filing or non-filing of STRs

  2. Review and validate documents provided by the branch/ business unit against the Statement of Account to determine suspicious patterns of transaction, any significant/ unusual transaction to determine its legal or trade obligation, purpose or economic justification and identify related accounts, if necessary

  3. Review the documents submitted by the branch. Once the required documents are complete, accomplish the STR templates for processing

  4. Route the memo for approval and concurrence of the AML Committee members on the filing of STR

  5. Upon approval the AML Committee seek approval from Unit Head to transmit the STR to AMLC in a systematic and timely manner


 


RISK CLASSIFICATION PROGRAM



  1. Implement and monitor the Risk Classification Program (RCP) of the Bank

  2. Coordinate with concerned business units on the review of the RCP parameters

  3. Perform advisory role in relation to RCP inquiries and concerns raised by the units concerned/ branches


 


MONITOR AND COORDINATE AML COMPLIANCE (HEAD OFFICE UNITS AND SUBSIDIARIES)



  1. Assist the Unit Head in coordinating with different head office units and subsidiaries on their required AML Compliance (ex. AML Risk Assessment, Enhanced Due Diligence)


 


EVALUATE AND FINE TUNE AML TRANSACTION MONITORING SYSTEM SCENARIOS



  1. Assist in fine tuning of AML Transaction Monitoring System scenarios

  2. Participate in User Acceptance Testing for new scenarios to be activated prior to implementation, if needed.

OTHER ACTIVITIES



  1. Perform advisory role in relation to AML-related inquiries and concerns raised by business units/ branches.

  2. Primarily responsible for the coordination with other Business Units to ensure that source files being used by the AML Unit’s Robotic Process Automation is updated

  3. Responsible for the unit’s coordination of the requirements during BSP Survey/ Visitation/ Examination, and the Department’s Internal Audit

  4. Assist in AML-related projects of the different units of the Bank

  5. Other activities that may be assigned from time to time
