Job Description - Bookkeeper

A Snapshot of Your Role                                                                                        

This is a hands‑on bookkeeping role at its core. Day to day, you will own the accuracy of the books and the routines that keep them clean. Your week will see you:

•  Record day to day financial transactions and complete the full posting process accurately

•  Verify that transactions are recorded correctly across the day book, supplier ledger, customer ledger and general ledger

•  Set up and process bill payments in QuickBooks

•  Perform daily reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts

•  Bring the books to trial balance stage

•  Carry out partial checks of the posting process to confirm accuracy

•  Handle intercompany transfers between separate QuickBooks profiles

•  Maintain records and prepare reports and financial statements

•  Process accounts receivable and payable, and support payroll in a timely manner

Beyond the Books                                                                                                    

This role extends past core bookkeeping. We are looking for someone flexible who is comfortable picking up a range of supporting tasks that keep the wider account running smoothly, including:

•  Balancing checks and verifying payment runs against source records

•  Data validation and integrity checks across financial and operational data sets

•  Cross‑checking entries and flagging discrepancies for timely resolution

•  Ad hoc data entry, reconciliation and reporting support as directed

•  General finance and administrative support tasks as the account requires

A Bit About You                                                                                                        

You bring a strong bookkeeping background and a genuine eye for detail. You take pride in clean, accurate records, you are confident with numbers, and you are happy to roll up your sleeves across both core bookkeeping and the wider tasks above.

•  A strong, proven bookkeeping background with hands‑on day to day experience

•  Solid grasp of core bookkeeping principles, accounting figures and financial records

•  A high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, this is non‑negotiable

•  Confident data entry skills and a natural aptitude for numbers

•  Flexible and adaptable, happy to take on tasks beyond core bookkeeping

•  A customer service orientation and a dependable, accountable work ethic

Role Requirements                                                                                                 

Essential

•  Accounting or accountancy‑related degree, with an emphasis on bookkeeping

•  At least 2 years of hands‑on bookkeeping experience

•  Demonstrated working proficiency in QuickBooks Online, the primary platform for this role

•  Strong Microsoft Excel skills at intermediate level or above, and general MS Office proficiency

•  Proven experience with reconciliations, ledger work and end to end posting

•  Willing and able to work 100% onsite in Metro Manila

•  Amenable to a permanent nightshift schedule

•  Available to start immediately or on short notice

•  Strong written and verbal English

Desirable

•  Working knowledge of Xero, a strong advantage given it is less common in the local market

•  Excel certification

•  Prior experience supporting international clients in a BPO or shared services setting

•  Experience handling intercompany transactions across multiple entity books

•  Exposure to data validation, balancing and reconciliation tasks beyond core bookkeeping

Work Arrangement                                                                                                  

This is a fully onsite position based in Metro Manila, working a nightshift schedule. We need someone who can commit to working 100% onsite, is comfortable with nightshift hours, and is ready to commence as soon as possible. Reliable onsite attendance, flexibility across tasks, and consistent presence each shift are essential to success in this role.
