General Accountant

Work Arrangement / Work Shift: WFH/

Role Overview:

We are currently in need of a forward-thinking General Accountant whose core strength is financial reporting, month-end closing, bank reconciliation, receivables and payables, etc. This role will be reporting directly to the Finance Controller.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage and record all accounting-related transactions.

• Review and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collection monitoring processes.

• Review uploaded bank payment entries and vendor payments.

• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including month-end journals and accruals in Xero.

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports and management schedules.

• Prepare financial reports and perform budget versus actual variance analysis.

• Assist the Finance Controller in budget, forecast, and other finance and accounting matters.

• Assist in payroll checking and validation.

• Manage treasury and cash flow activities including forex transactions and bank charges.

• Coordinate tax compliance requirements with external accountants

• Assist external auditors by providing required reports, schedules, and supporting documents.

• Assist in managing subsidiary accounts and related reconciliations.

• Maintain confidentiality of financial data and conduct database backups when necessary

• Recommend process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Work experience as an Accountant

• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Hands-on experience with accounting software like Xero and QuickBooks

• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.

• Knowledge in using AI (Chatgpt, Gemini, Claude) is a plus.

• Experience with general ledger functions

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• BS in Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree

• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus but not required
