For this opportunity, you’ll be supporting a long-established Australian law firm with more than a century of history serving individuals, families, and businesses. The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity, as a Legal Secretary, for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to gain hands-on experience in a real legal environment.

You will keep legal matters organised, documents accurate, and deadlines on track while working alongside experienced legal professionals.

Think of yourself as the person keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes.

You’ll be helping manage files, organise case information, coordinate documents, and support the team in making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

What You’ll Do
  • Open, maintain, and organise client matter files
  • Build case chronologies, summaries, and document records
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal correspondence, reports, letters, and court documents
  • Track important court dates, filing deadlines, and key milestones
  • Organise evidence, briefs, and document bundles for legal matters
  • Coordinate with external professionals such as report writers, medical experts, and specialists
  • Manage calendars, schedules, and matter-related reminders
  • Assist with document discovery and information gathering
  • Follow up clients and stakeholders for required documents and information
  • Support the team with filing, document management, reporting, and administrative tasks
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across all legal records


Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, or have done any Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field preferred
  • Around 6–12 months of administration experience (legal experience is a huge bonus)
  • Strong typing skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Comfortable working with documents, systems, and digital filing platforms
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Microsoft Word
  • Organised, dependable, and process-drive
  • Comfortable and committed in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Able to work independently once trained while knowing when to ask questions
