LogicMonitor Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring Optimization & Scalability

• Optimize LogicMonitor configurations, including custom Data Sources, alert correlation, and device grouping.

• Ensure monitoring architecture scales across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

ServiceNow Integration & Governance

• Maintain and enhance LogicMonitor–ServiceNow CMDB integration.

• Ensure accurate alert routing, CMDB hygiene, and alignment with tool rationalization strategies.

Automation & Performance

• Expand automation to reduce MTTR and improve operational efficiency.

• Build capacity dashboards and deliver performance analytics.

Root Cause & Incident Analysis

• Correlate metrics, logs, and change events to produce audit-ready incident timelines.

• Support root cause analysis using advanced monitoring capabilities.

Tool Rationalization

• Lead decommissioning of legacy monitoring tools in favor of standardized LogicMonitor adoption.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with ITIL leadership and business units to align monitoring strategy with ITIL best practices.

Job Requirements:

LogicMonitor Expertise

• Hands-on experience implementing LogicMonitor SaaS environments.

• Expert-level skills in:

o Collector installation and maintenance

o Device onboarding and configuration updates

o Custom alert lifecycle design

o Dashboard development

o LogicModule optimization

o Integrations with third-party tools

Integrations

• Experience integrating LogicMonitor with Splunk, ServiceNow, ThousandEyes, Forward Networks, and other monitoring platforms.

• At least one full lifecycle implementation of the EdwinAI module.

Technical Strengths

• Strong knowledge of network devices, architectures, SNMP, logs, probes, and visibility tooling.

• Solid understanding of hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure.

• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Powershell or Java)

• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, JSON, RegEx,REST APIs)

Process & Communication

• Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills for leadership and audit reporting.

• Ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and operate in an agile environment
