Machine Operator

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating, setting up, and monitoring production machines to ensure efficient and safe operation.


• Responsible for performing in-process and final inspections to verify product quality against specifications and standards.


• Responsible for identifying, documenting, and reporting defects or non-conformities during production.


• Responsible for maintaining accurate production and inspection records.


• Responsible for routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs when necessary.


• Lead and manage machine operations within assigned workstation to meet production targets and quality requirements.


• Lead and manage adherence to safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or its equivalents with at least 1–3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or machine operation (functional skills).
  (Alternatively, a technical/vocational diploma with equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.)

• Leadership capabilities to manage a small team or coordinate effectively with cross-functional personnel.


• Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving.


• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate inspections and measurements.


• Basic knowledge of quality tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).


• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. to achieve production and quality goals.


• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite in a manufacturing/production environment.


• Requires standing for extended periods, operating machinery, and handling materials.


• May involve exposure to noise, heat, or moving mechanical parts while following safety protocols.
