Manager in Training - Express Carwash

Position Title: Manager-in-Training (MIT)

Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Pay Range: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Locations: Rotates across four sites: Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Buena Park, and San Pedro, CA

Program Overview

The Manager-in-Training (MIT) program is a hands-on development track that prepares high-potential individuals to step into a Store Manager role. During the program, the MIT rotates across our four locations to learn every part of running our carwashes: membership sales, team leadership, site operations, and the systems behind them. MITs may also provide temporary coverage at any location based on business needs.

Promotion to Store Manager is not guaranteed. Advancement depends on successful completion of the program, demonstrated readiness, and the availability of an open Store Manager position. Because openings depend on business needs, an employee may remain in the MIT role for an extended period.

What You'll Learn and Develop:

• Learn to grow Unlimited Wash Club memberships through hands-on selling and guest engagement
• Develop team leadership skills by supporting recruiting, training, scheduling, and coaching alongside the Store Manager and District Manager
• Learn site operations and standards — tunnel, vacuums, equipment, grounds, and overall appearance
• Gain experience supporting inventory, supplies, and vendor coordination
• Build your ability to read and act on a site P&L, including sales, labor utilization, and expense targets
• Support compliance with safety, maintenance, and customer service expectations
• Perform hands-on operational tasks across all areas of the wash to build front-line proficiency

What We're Looking For:

• 1+ years leading a team at the store-manager, assistant-manager, or supervisor level (car wash, QSR, retail, or hospitality preferred)
• Interest in recurring-revenue or membership sales; car wash or membership experience is a plus
• Willingness to learn to read P&L statements and drive business results
• Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
• Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Comfortable working hands-on in an outdoor, fast-paced environment — standing and walking for extended periods, in varying weather (heat, cold, rain, wind), and around moving equipment and vehicles
• Able to lift and perform the physical tasks involved in daily site operations and upkeep
• Able and willing to rotate across all four locations (Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Buena Park, and San Pedro) based on training and business needs
• A valid California driver's license and reliable transportation, since the role requires travel between locations during the workday
