NOC Support Technician

Overview:

Working as a member of a 24/7 support team, the NOC Support Technician will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting and escalating network related issues. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking, problem-solving abilities, and possess strong English oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Handle the prompt resolution of all escalations and urgent requests from clients in a 24/7 environment.


• Provide first level network support and front-line customer support for LAN and Carrier Network issues.


• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across a wide range of devices (routers, switches, and other communication devices).


• Monitor the operational support systems to proactively identify service-impacting events.


• Escalate problems to the appropriate teams within the company or external vendors as required to achieve resolution.


• Utilize network diagrams to support effective troubleshooting.
  Keep current on industry products and technologies available for communications (e.g. Internet services, protocols and networking equipment).


• Utilize ServiceNow and/or Jira to log all requests and activities.


• Produce and update process and support documentation.

Requirements and Experience:

• Strong English Communication skills (oral and written)


• Cisco CCNA or equivalent network and routing knowledge


• Knowledge of CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP or Linux skills is desirable


• Previous Network Security Experience/Knowledge is an asset

Please note that as a member of our 24/7 support team, the NOC Support Technician role involves shift rotation, including night shifts.
