Prior Authorization Specialist / Patient Appointment Coordinator (Work From Home)

Client: Urology Practice based in New Jersey, USA

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and follow up on prior authorizations with insurance companies.
  • Confirm and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Answer patient calls professionally and courteously.
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while complying with HIPAA privacy standards.

Requirements

  • Experience with prior authorizations is highly preferred.
  • Comfortable communicating with patients over the phone.
  • Willing to use time-tracking software during work hours.
  • Willing to work through a HIPAA-compliant secure virtual desktop.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection.
  • Quiet, professional home workspace free from distractions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and computer skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Rate: $5.00/hour for the first 90 days.
  • Increase: $6.00/hour after successfully completing the 90-day probationary period.
  • HMO Benefit: Available after completing 6 months with the client.
  • Payment Schedule: First payment after two weeks, then biweekly every other Monday before 7:00 AM Manila Time.
  • Payment Method: Wise.

Work-From-Home Requirements

  • Dedicated, quiet workspace.
  • Stable power supply.
  • Reliable internet connection (preferably fiber).
  • Noise-free environment for handling patient calls.
  • Webcam and headset for meetings and calls.
  • Ability to work securely through a virtual desktop.

To ensure smooth performance while using a secure virtual desktop, browser-based EMR systems, phone software, and multiple tabs:

  • RAM: 8 GB

  • Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
  • Internet: At least 25 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload
  • Webcam: 720p or higher
  • Headset: USB or noise-canceling headset with microphone

  • Processor: Intel Core i5/i7 (10th Gen or newer) or AMD Ryzen 5/7
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD
  • Dual monitors (recommended for multitasking)
