About the Client: a performance marketing agency specializing in healthy, active, and lifestyle brands. The company helps businesses drive growth through data-driven marketing, audience insights, media strategy, creative content, and integrated digital solutions.
Overview: The Programmatic Associate is a hands-on execution and account health role supporting the Programmatic team. This position builds and traffics programmatic campaigns quickly and accurately, keeps live campaigns delivering on budget, and finds problems before they cost clients money. Unlike a pure QA role, the associate is expected to diagnose what is wrong and propose a specific fix, not just flag that something looks off. The associate works from documented processes, build templates, and briefs from senior team members. Recommended fixes are reviewed and approved by the Programmatic Team Manager before changes that affect strategy, bidding, inventory, or budget allocation are made. This role is not responsible for leading client communication, setting campaign strategy, or owning client performance goals
Responsibilities:
Build campaigns in The Trade Desk and DV360 from approved briefs and templates, including budgets, flights, ad groups or line items, bid settings, frequency caps, audiences, geo targeting, and brand safety settings
Primary focus will be The Trade Desk. Secondary will be DV360, including YouTube line items
Traffic creatives and tags, confirming correct specs, sizes, VAST/VPAID setup, click-through URLs, and UTMs
Set up and verify deal IDs, private marketplace (PMP) deals, and inventory lists
Confirm tracking pixels and conversion events are firing and attached correctly before launch
Build multi-location geo targeting quickly for clients operating dozens to hundreds of locations
Run scheduled audits of live campaigns against a standard checklist: flight dates, budgets, pacing settings, frequency caps, creative approvals, deal status, pixel health, and naming consistency
Perform daily delivery checks using internal tools and directly in platform to spot anomalies such as under-delivery, sudden spend spikes, falling win rates, CPM or CTR swings, viewability drops, or conversion tracking breaks
Identify the likely cause of each anomaly (for example, bids too low for the inventory, an inactive or non-bidding deal, an expired creative, a pixel outage, overly narrow targeting, or suspicious traffic) before escalating
Review site and app placement reports to flag low-quality or suspicious inventory and propose exclusions
For every issue identified, document what happened, the likely cause, the recommended fix, and the expected impact Implement approved fixes and routine corrections (creative swaps, broken URLs, flight date fixes, placement exclusions) within agreed guidelines
Escalate issues that affect strategy, bidding, inventory, or budget allocation to the
Programmatic Team Manager with a recommendation, not just a flag
Monitor campaign pacing to ensure budgets are spending appropriately relative to plan; flag under- or over-delivery promptly
Verify landing pages, URLs, and destination functionality prior to and after launch
Clearly communicate errors, risks, and pacing concerns to senior team members
Track identified issues through resolution to ensure no gaps in execution
Build CTV and audio campaigns from approved briefs
Own recurring audits for an assigned set of clients end to end
Implement a wider range of approved optimizations (bid adjustments, budget shifts within plan, inventory and audience refinements) with less review
Help maintain and improve build templates, audit checklists, and anomaly thresholds
Support a higher volume of campaigns once consistency and trust are established
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building and managing campaigns in The Trade Desk
Experience trafficking creatives and tags, including display and video (VAST) formats
Working knowledge of bidding, frequency management, audience and geo targeting, deals and PMPs, and brand safety and fraud prevention tools
Understanding of pixel and conversion tracking, including Google Tag Manager and Campaign Manager 360
Demonstrated ability to diagnose the cause of a delivery or performance change, not just notice it
The Trade Desk Edge Academy certification preferred; DV360 experience not required (training provided)
Strong attention to detail and comfort with process-driven, high-volume work
Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy and to meet deadlines consistently
Clear written communication skills for internal coordination and issue write-ups
