Job Role: QA Tester

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: The company is a digital platform built to support childcare providers in managing their daily operations more efficiently. It brings together key functions like enrolments, billing, staff coordination, and communication into one system, helping reduce the need to switch between multiple tools.

Role Overview: We are looking for a hands-on QA Tester who enjoys getting into a product, understanding how it works, and finding problems before customers do.

This role will focus on functional testing, particularly within the first 6–12 months, across a complex SaaS platform as well as mobile web applications, Android and iOS/iPad environments. The system includes multiple user roles, permissions, billing, payments, accounts, and interconnected workflows.

Experience with automation testing is a bonus, but this is not a heavily automation-focused role.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Testing new features before release
• Investigating and reproducing reported bugs
• Confirming and verifying bug fixes
• Exploring the product to find edge cases and unexpected behaviour
• Working with developers to diagnose issues
• Testing APIs and integrations where required
• Helping flesh out tickets and clarify requirements before development
• Creating work items and tickets in Azure DevOps
• Reviewing and improving product guidelines and documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing or QA
• Experience with automation testing is a bonus 
• Fluent English written and spoken
• Strong attention to detail
