R & D Engineer

Targets the optimization of products with respect to their manufacturability (design-to-manufacture, design-to-cost ).
Analyzes alternative options of product design in order to support e.g., Make-or-buy decisions.
Contributes to product design and/or to product ramp-up and drive continuous improvement topics.
Analyzes product specifications, clarifies manufacturing aspects of products with Product Design, Product Marketing and Industrial Engineering team.
Calculates product modification or re-engineering, plan equipment layout, tools and IT programs needed,.
May lead pilot manufacturing sequences.

Selects and utilizes precedents, methods, tools and procedural guidance given.
Executes case-specific procedures to realize assigned parts or steps in the development project (e. g. , design parts according to specifications given, by using 3D design and simulation programs).
Supports engineers in solving issues and problems (e. g. , building and/or testing prototypes, calibrating, calculating, upscaling, etc. ).
Cooperates with or support external service provider in their work.
