Job Description - Recruitment Officer

The Recruitment Officer is responsible for assisting the Recruitment Manager and Deputy Recruitment Manager in the step-by-step recruitment procedures of all new applicants.


 


In the absence of the Recruitment Officer, the Recruitment Manager or the Deputy Recruitment Manager will take over all his task related to recruitment process.



Qualifications:


 



  1. Must be a graduate of BS Psychology or any related bachelor’s degree course.

  2. Must have an extensive experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 3 years holding a similar position or its equivalent if of technical background.

  3. Must have an extensive experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 4 years holding a similar position or its equivalent if of non-technical background.



Core Job Functions:


 



  1. Responsible for conducting an initial assessment of the qualification of all applicants in coordination with the Deputy Recruitment Manager.

  2. Responsible for the verification of the official records/documents of the new applicants to ensure that they are valid and authentic.

  3. Responsible for assisting with administering the CBT examination and coordinating with the company psychologist for enrollment on the IMEQ platform.

  4. The Recruitment Officer is responsible for the collection of the original documents of the new applicants.

  5. Responsible for endorsing the initially assessed applicants to the Technical Interviewer for scheduling of their interview and technical assessment.

  6. Responsible for maintaining and uploading the latest articles/advisories on the company’s official social media and website.

  7. The Recruitment Officer assists in whatever is necessary by the Deputy Recruitment Manager and/or Recruitment Manager.


 


Core Competencies:




  1. Excellent in communication skills.

  2. Excellent knowledge of English writing and speaking.

  3. Must have the knowledge and understanding of HR and recruitment skills.



  1. Must have a vast network within the shipping industry to effectively and pro-actively recruit seafarers.



  1. Must be knowledgeable on computer operating systems, office software and applications


 


Significant Factors:


 



  1. He/she must have the ability to work extra hours.

  2. He/she must possess the ability to plan and innovate and come up with new and effective recruitment schemes.

  3. He/she must possess an excellent inter-personal skill in dealing with prospective applicants.

  4. He/she must be familiar with the STCW Convention.
