Job Description - Risk Control Manager


Role Overview:



The jobholder is responsible for leading the ALM & Counterparty Risk Control function within MLRM. This role ensures robust oversight of market and liquidity risks for the Accrual Portfolio, in alignment with the Bank’s risk management policies, frameworks, and approved limits. Additionally, the jobholder oversees adherence to established counterparty credit limits, ensuring effective monitoring, escalation, and control to safeguard the Bank’s risk profile.

 


Job Responsibilities:


A. ALM & Counterparty Risk Control Function (70%)



  1. Oversees the ALM & Counterparty Risk Control function and serves as back-up of the Trading & Derivatives Risk Control Manager.

  2. Reviews and monitors accrual portfolio exposures and counterparty utilization on a daily basis versus established limits, and reports any policy deviation or breaches to the Risk Control Head for dissemination to the MLRM Head and the concerned Business Units.

  3. Reviews customer and security build-up.

  4. Ensures all relevant exposures are fully captured and reported.

  5. Documents risk reporting and control procedures relative to the accrual and counterparty risk control function, as appropriate.


B. Systems-Related Function (20%)



  1. Ensures regular maintenance and housekeeping of static data relative to the accrual and counterparty risk control function.

  2. Participates in system testing for new products and system upgrades.


C. Other Administrative Function (10%)



  1. Assists the Team Head in evaluating and conducting performance appraisal of subordinates, including counseling of employees if needed.

  2. Conducts interviews of prospective applicants.

  3. Performs other duties within the general scope of aforementioned tasks as may be assigned by the Risk Control Team Head.


 


Job Qualifications:



  • Graduate of any Math, Science, Accounting, Business, or Finance-related courses.

  • At least 2 years experience in treasury or risk management.

  • Good technical and analytical skills with sufficient background knowledge and understanding of Treasury products.
