Job Overview

This role independently performs advanced accounting work requiring substantial technical judgment and problem solving within defined areas of responsibility. It resolves complex and non routine accounting issues, strengthens governance and controls, and ensures high quality accounting outcomes that support accurate and compliant financial results. The role serves as a senior technical resource by improving execution quality and consistency within scope, without assuming division level advisory accountability. The role responsible for overseeing the books of assigned Legal Entity, and identified process under Record to Report. The role handles Governance, which includes approvals of related process, escalation handling, issue resolution, and control compliance. Key responsibilities include review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting Tax functions , and other identified support function.  The position also includes continues stakeholder management (internal and external), monitoring KPIs and SLAs, and driving continuous improvement and controls compliance. 

Accountabilities

• 
  
  Oversee the accounting records of assigned legal entities and designated Record-to-Report processes.
  
  


• 
  
  Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  
  


• 
  
  Prepare, review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
  
  


• 
  
  Ensure compliance with Hershey’s account reconciliation policy.
  
  


• 
  
  Support tax functions and ensure the timely and accurate filing of indirect taxes through government tax portals.
  
  


• 
  
  Manage process governance, including approvals, escalations, issue resolution, and control compliance.
  
  


• 
  
  Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and internal controls.
  
  


• 
  
  Serve as either the preparer or approver of SOX controls, depending on the assigned responsibility.
  
  


• 
  
  Monitor key performance indicators and service-level agreements.
  
  


• 
  
  Identify and implement process automation and standardization opportunities.
  
  


• 
  
  Drive continuous improvement and strengthen control compliance.
  
  


• 
  
  Partner with regional finance teams, Global Capability Centers, controllers, and other business leaders.
  
  


• 
  
  Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  
  

Minimum Education & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.


• Certified Public Accountant qualification is preferred


• At least seven years of experience in Accounting or Record-to-Report processes.


• Experience working in a multinational company with regular stakeholder interaction.


• Experience in a Shared Services, Global Capability Center, or Business Process Outsourcing environment is an advantage.
