About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Credit Officer to join our credit team in the Philippines. You will be responsible for assessing loan applications across a range of product types, making independent lending decisions, and managing your own application pipeline through to formal approval. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your credit judgement and analytical rigour directly drive outcomes for our brokers and borrowers.
You will work closely with our Australian credit team and will have access to Arthurmac's credit policies, lending systems, and product training from day one. We are looking for someone with the right foundation and the right attitude — someone who can absorb new product knowledge quickly and apply sound credit judgement consistently.
What You Will Be Doing
• Assess and analyse loan applications, evaluating financial statements, income documentation, credit reports, and supporting materials across a range of product types.
• Make independent lending decisions with confidence, identifying and mitigating credit risks associated with each application.
• Manage your own application pipeline from submission through to formal approval, ensuring timely progression and proactive communication with brokers at each stage.
• Ensure strict adherence to Arthurmac's lending policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the broader team including sales, operations, and legal to gather information and resolve application queries.
• Be accessible and responsive to the broker team to support the progression of applications as needed.
What We Are Looking For
• Proven experience in credit assessment and financial analysis, ideally in an Australian lending or banking environment. Non-bank lending experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong ability to read and interpret financial statements, tax returns, bank statements, and supporting documentation.
• Demonstrated capacity to make sound, independent lending decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of credit risk principles and Australian lending regulatory requirements (NCCP awareness is valued; in-depth knowledge is developed during onboarding).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills — you notice what others miss and follow problems through to resolution.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills for broker and internal stakeholder interaction.
• A genuine drive to learn, adapt, and develop expertise in a specialist lending environment.
What Makes You Stand Out
• Direct experience assessing Alt Doc, Non-Conforming, SMSF, or Commercial loan applications.
• Prior experience in a non-bank lender, mortgage manager, or specialist lending environment.
• A track record of managing a high-volume credit pipeline independently.
• Experience working in a broker-distribution model and understanding of how mortgage brokers operate.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a team leader or people management role at this stage. You will be a senior individual contributor working alongside a small, focused credit team. Stuart and Sandra lead the team directly.
Non-bank lending experience is valued but Arthurmac has a proven record of onboarding strong credit professionals from mainstream banking backgrounds within four weeks. If your analytical foundations are strong and your attitude is right, we encourage you to apply.
