The role

The Shift Coordinator ensures that standard procedures are enforced uniformly across the

Sourcing Unit, whilst making judgements about the effectiveness and quality of production that

is in progress. She/he will ensure the In and Out logistic operation is efficiently managed;

material available to the line at the right time in the right quantity, with product ready to be

efficiently evacuated via trailers or other means. The Shift Coordinator will manage the

operational priorities set by the Production Manager whilst supervising overall Quality and

directing engineering priorities according to the daily plan.

The Shift Coordinator is responsible for all team administration, including shift patterns,

timekeeping, performance management, discipline, etc. He/she must ensure that any safety,

quality, personnel issues (including disciplinary) are managed without impact to Key

Performance Indicators. The Shift Coordinator must display excellent personal qualities and

must be have the requisite business acumen in order to provide the financial context, team focus

and motivation to success in a World Class Manufacturing environment.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Technical – Shift Supervisor are required to maintain a Working Knowledge of the technical skills required to Operate, Maintain and Improve equipment. This will assist their responsibilities as facilitators and coaches, and when setting targets across the Sourcing Unit
  • Safety - Utilize all appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team.
  • Workplace Hazards - Full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it. Utilize all appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment relevant to the tasks in assigned area.
  • Environment – Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
  • Quality - Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the Sourcing Unit are in accordance with agreed Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product.
  • Leadership - Promote the development of a highly effective team through strong communication, leading by example whilst keeping focused on goals and targets
  • Logistics – Implement the principles of logistics to maintain efficient in loading of materials to the line and evacuation of product from the Sourcing Unit (Foresight, Economy, Cooperation, Simplicity and Flexibility)Administration - Able to administer the Sourcing Unit in a timely and accurate manner regarding shift line-up, timekeeping, performance management, rewards & recognition, employee engagement activities, training and safety whilst liaising with Cell Leaders and Sourcing Unit leads to ensure policy compliance. Provide support, advice and action to Sourcing Unit Leads on issues of discipline and conflict resolution.
  • Administration - Able to administer the Sourcing Unit in a timely and accurate manner regarding shift line-up, timekeeping, performance management, rewards & recognition, employee engagement activities, training and safety whilst liaising with Cell Leaders and Sourcing Unit leads to ensure policy compliance. Provide support, advice and action to Sourcing Unit Leads on issues of discipline and conflict resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement - Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses. Lead Focused Improvement activities to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met.
  • Problem Solving - Has the ability to identify, prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
  • Production Output – Support the setting of Sourcing Unit production plan targets and review performance in order to drive functional goals across the Sourcing Unit.
  • Business Awareness - Understanding of the need to meet changing demands and the role of marketing and product innovation in growing the business and increasing the company's share.

  • Has experience in manufacturing and can operate confidently in a fast-moving consumer goods company
  • Brings strong technical and leadership skills in manufacturing experience to operate effectively in a World Class Manufacturing site;
  • Is able build and motivate a large team, as well as coach it to success
  • Thinks end-to-end and takes ownerships for results
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving organisation
  • Values collaboration, clarity and low-ego ways of working
