Senior Drainage/Hydraulic Engineer

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Senior Drainage/Hydraulic Engineer to lead the design and implementation of complex drainage and hydraulic systems. Licensed Civil Engineer with 10+ years of progressive experience required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design drainage systems, stormwater management solutions, and hydraulic infrastructure


• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis (HEC-RAS, SWMM, InfoWorks)


• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams on projects


• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables


• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and design standards


• Mentor junior engineers and review technical work


• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings


• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering


• Current PE License in Civil Engineering


• 10+ years as a Licensed Civil Engineer


• 10+ years as a Drainage/Hydraulic Engineer


• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and CAD/BIM tools


• Strong knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic principles


• Excellent communication and project management skills


• Leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering


• 15+ years of total experience


• Experience with sustainable drainage systems (SuDS/LID)


• 2D/3D modeling software (HEC-2D, TUFLOW)


• GIS and data analysis experience


• Team management experience
