As a Substation and Facilities Architect, you will be responsible for substation conceptual design and integration and corporate facilities modernization. You will work closely with the Power System Design team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  Deliver conceptual designs for substations that reduce visual pollution, secure community approval faster, and adhere to local municipal zoning aesthetics.

  Design secure, durable building envelopes that protect high-voltage equipment and control systems from environmental hazards, structural failures, and security threats.

  
  


• 
  

  Standardize the look and feel of company facilities, elevating them into modern, state-of-the-art corporate environments.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide architectural solutions that are cost-effective, durable, and fully compliant with utility safety standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Deliver efficient spatial layouts for technical control buildings and corporate offices to maximize operational flow and accommodate future engineering expansions.

  
  


• 
  

  Direct building improvement and renovation projects across utility properties to upgrade older infrastructure, improve energy efficiency, and lower lifecycle maintenance costs.

  
  


• 
  

  Safeguard the utility company from liabilities by ensuring all new structures and office renovations strictly adhere to national building, fire, and electrical grid safety codes.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• 
  

  Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture

  
  


• 
  

  Registered/Licensed Architect

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum of 5 years of progressive architectural design experience, with a proven track role in industrial, utility, or high-security facilities preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency in Advanced 3D Modeling & Rendering 

  
  

Technical / Functional Skills:

• 
  

  Skill in designing high-efficiency layouts for specialized control buildings and corporate offices that maximize workflow and leave clear paths for future engineering expansions.

  
  


• 
  

  Expertise in standardizing facility aesthetics to transform industrial properties into modern, cohesive, and professional corporate environments. 

  
  


• 
  

  Technical knowledge of high-performance building skins that protect sensitive electronic relays and high-voltage equipment from environmental hazards (moisture, dust, extreme temperatures).

  
  


• 
  

  Deep understanding of local zoning laws, municipal ordinances, and aesthetic guidelines to secure faster community and regulatory approvals.

  
  


• 
  

  Mastery of specific utility-sector regulations, structural codes, and clearance requirements to ensure safety around high-voltage equipment.
