Role objective and areas of focus.
The primary objective of the Technical SEO Lead is responsible for driving organic search performance through technical expertise, strategic oversight, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role focuses on ensuring that all websites and digital assets are optimised for search engines and deliver best-in-class user experience.
The role will be an integral contributor to the company’s success, maintaining close relationships with stakeholders across the Directed Group, external parties and working cross functionally to provide support for the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities of the SEO Technical Lead will include, but are not limited to:
SEO Technical Execution
•Deliver SEO traffic that converts and ultimately drives sales for our websites.
•Oversee website SEO architecture, crawling, indexing, and rendering optimisation.
•Manage site migrations, redesigns and SEO implementations required from an SEO perspective.
•Ensure site performance and page speed optimisation, including Core Web Vitals improvements.
•Establish scalable QA and testing frameworks for SEO-related deployments (pre/post-release checks).
•Implement structured data/schema markup to enhance SERP visibility.
•Monitor and resolve crawl errors, broken links, redirects, and canonicalisation issues.
•Work closely with developers to ensure SEO requirements are integrated into builds and releases.
•Partner with content, UX, and product teams to align SEO with user experience and engagement goals.
•Support digital marketing and paid media teams with keyword insights and technical alignment.
•Measurement and reporting as required
SEO Operations
•Own the SEO operations framework, ensuring consistent processes for audits, reporting, and optimisation.
•Implement AI enhancement programs that ensure SEO outcomes are achieved within AI frameworks for Google and Chat GPT and other AI LLM.
•Implement SEO automation and tooling (dashboards, scripts, APIs, log file analysis).
•Manage SEO workflows with developers, content, and product teams to embed SEO into release cycles.
•Establish documentation and playbooks for repeatable SEO practices (e.g., migration checklists, tagging standards).
•Conduct operational audits to identify gaps in processes and implement corrective measures.
•Define and track SEO KPIs: organic growth, crawl health, site speed metrics, and conversion impact.
•Build and maintain SEO performance dashboards using analytics and BI tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau).
•Automate reporting processes to ensure operational efficiency and timely insights.
•Regularly present performance updates and operational impact to senior leadership.
