Job Description - Phone Research Specialist (Part-time)
Description
As a Phone Research Specialist, you will contact businesses from a provided list to verify employee counts using a short, pre-approved script. Calls are brief—typically around 30 seconds—and are presented as independent market research. Your primary responsibility is to collect accurate information and document the results clearly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, repetitive work, communicates confidently over the phone, and maintains accuracy while handling a high volume of calls.
This is a 3-month contract role with the opportunity for additional hours and a project extension.
Duties and Responsibilities
Make outbound calls to businesses from a provided account list.
Follow a standardized call script to verify company employee counts.
Present each call as independent research in a professional and friendly manner.
Make up to five contact attempts per account before marking it complete.
Accurately record call outcomes, employee counts, and any relevant notes.
Maintain organized records to ensure results are easy to review and analyze.
Follow established workflows while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
Project Scope
Approximately 2,000 accounts requiring employee count verification.
Initial quality assurance batch before expanding to larger volumes.
Three-month contract with work assigned in phases.
Opportunity for additional hours based on project needs and performance.
Requirements
Excellent verbal English communication skills.
Professional, friendly, and confident phone presence.
Comfortable making a high volume of short outbound calls.
Strong attention to detail when documenting call outcomes.
Able to work independently once trained on the workflow and script.
Organized and dependable with consistent follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in phone-based research, customer service, call center, or outbound calling.
Experience using spreadsheets or CRM systems to document interactions.
Familiarity with business research or data validation projects.
Experience working remotely in a structured, metrics-driven environment.
Schedule
Part-time to start (20+ hours per week).
Opportunity for increased hours as the project scales.
Calls must be placed during U.S. Central Time business hours.
