Buyer Category Expert (Services – Indirect)

About the role
We are looking for a Category Buyer / Category Expert to manage procurement activities across service-based categories, with a strong focus on indirect services (such as Professional Services, IT Services, Facilities, and HR).
In this role, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive sourcing initiatives, ensure service quality, and deliver measurable business value. This is a role for someone who combines commercial mindset with strong stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes within service categories


• Lead sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and conduct commercial negotiations


• Partner with business stakeholders (HR, IT, Facilities, Finance)


• Build and manage supplier relationships, including SLA and performance tracking


• Analyze spend, market trends, and cost drivers to identify opportunities


• Ensure contract compliance and service quality delivery

What you need to succeed

• Experience in procurement within services or indirect categories (3–6+ years)


• Experience in sourcing services (e.g. IT, consulting, outsourcing, facilities, HR)


• Strong stakeholder management skills


• Experience in negotiating service contracts and commercial terms


• Understanding of service delivery models, SLAs, and cost structures


• Strong analytical skills (spend analysis, benchmarking, cost drivers)


• Very good English (min. B2 level)

Nice to have

• Exposure to category management approach


• Experience in a global or matrix organization


• Knowledge of procurement tools (SAP, Ariba, Coupa, etc.)
