We are partnering with a rapidly growing international FinTech organisation to appoint an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO).

This executive leadership role will be responsible for defining and executing the company's technology strategy, leading large-scale global IT operations, and driving digital transformation across a business where technology is the core enabler of growth, customer experience, security, and operational excellence.

Your Mission

As Chief Information Officer, you will shape the future of technology across the organisation by aligning IT strategy with ambitious business objectives. You will build and lead a world-class technology organisation, modernise enterprise platforms, strengthen operational resilience, and ensure technology becomes a sustainable competitive advantage.

Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in scaling the business, enabling innovation, and supporting international expansion. 

Key Responsibilities



  • Define and execute the enterprise-wide technology strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Lead all core technology functions, including Infrastructure, Cloud, Enterprise Applications, Cybersecurity, IT Operations, Service Management, and End User Services.

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing technology organisations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive enterprise-wide digital transformation, cloud adoption, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.

  • Ensure the availability, scalability, resilience, and security of all technology platforms supporting mission-critical business operations.

  • Partner closely with executive stakeholders to ensure technology investments directly support commercial growth and customer experience.

  • Oversee IT governance, budgeting, vendor management, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

  • Build and strengthen leadership capability across the IT organisation through coaching, succession planning, and organisational development.






Requirements



  • 12+ years of professional experience in Information Technology, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership role (CIO, IT Director, VP of IT, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience leading large-scale technology organisations with a minimum of 100 IT professionals across multiple functions.

  • Mandatory experience within the FinTech, Digital Payments, Banking Technology, eCommerce, Online Marketplace, or other high-volume digital transaction environments.

  • Strong understanding of highly available, customer-facing technology ecosystems supporting millions of users and business-critical platforms.

  • Strong expertise across enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, IT operations, enterprise applications, and modern technology platforms.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise-wide digital transformation, cloud migration, organisational change, and technology modernisation programmes.

  • Experience establishing, scaling, or leading Technology Delivery Centres, Shared Service Centres, or Global Capability Centres (GCCs) is highly desirable.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align technology strategy with business objectives.

  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and executive influencing skills.

  • Fluent English is required; additional European languages will be considered an advantage.

  • Willingness to undertake moderate international travel as required by the role.
