Position Title:Director, Finance Shared Services (GB & EMENA)

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Requisition ID: 45215

In every role, McCainers are ambitious, curious, and passionate about creating exceptional work experiences - together. With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy.

About the role.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape the future of Finance Shared Services across the GB & EMENA region. As Director, Finance Shared Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for end-to-end financial processes — currently rooted in Order-to-Cash, with potential future scope expansions into other Finance and administrative areas. This role is central to driving financial performance by strategically managing credit risk, optimizing collection cycles, enforcing internal controls, and ensuring compliance.

Operating with a high degree of delegated responsibility, you will handle day-to-day operational decisions and process escalations to relieve regional controllership. As Site Head and Legal Representative for the Polish branch, you will provide inspiring leadership to a growing organization of ~40 employees, cultivating a strong, performance-driven culture and overseeing local partnerships.

Ultimately, you will champion continuous improvement and the practical integration of AI-driven capabilities into daily operations — partnering closely on major finance transformation initiatives and positioning the SSC as a key enabler of financial efficiency and scalable business growth across the wider GB and EMENA regions.

What you’ll be doing.

Finance & O2C Operational Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end O2C operations including customer invoicing and billing, accounts receivable, credit risk management and insurance, trade agreement setup, and trade claim processing.

  • Act as primary steward of the regional credit policy, including approving credit limit increases and managing order releases beyond standard parameters.

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting on O2C activities, including trade spend, dispute metrics, and KPIs covering collection efficiency, bad debt, invoice accuracy, and automation adoption.

  • Prepare and monitor the annual Finance SSC cost centre budget.

  • Ensure full adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, robust internal controls, and SOX compliance, supporting internal and external audits.

SSC Strategy, Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Set the vision and direction for scaling O2C capabilities within the SSC, supporting business growth and cross-regional workflow harmonization.

  • Drive process standardization and efficiency using automation, digital tools, and best practices.

  • Monitor KPIs and SLA frameworks; identify and address bottlenecks in the O2C cycle to enhance revenue recognition and cash flow.

  • Partner as an operational support to global process owners and transformation managers on system deployments, including AI pilot programs.

Site Leadership & Branch Operations

Responsible for branch governance, HR-related operational support, vendor and facility management, employee benefits administration, compliance, and organizational engagement initiatives:

  • Act as the designated Legal Representative for the Polish branch, formally representing the site to external parties and fulfilling obligations assigned to the head of the workplace under Polish labour law.

  • Oversee vendor negotiations and contract management for external services including payroll, Occupational Health & Safety, Private Medical Care, Employee Pension Plans, Company Social Benefit plans, and office facilities.

  • Co-manage SSC-wide engagement and culture initiatives — including Town Halls, local events, and involvement in programs such as McCain in Motion and ABSL membership.

People Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a team of ~40 employees, including 3–4 direct management reports, ensuring talent retention, succession planning, and a performance-driven culture.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Legal, IT, and Global Finance Transformation) to align workflows and resolve escalations.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise customer satisfaction and support business objectives.

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Master's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

  • At least 7 years of leadership experience directing multi-functional Shared Services Centres, with proven expertise in leading managers of managers in an international, matrixed environment.

  • Broad-based finance background combining strong Order-to-Cash (O2C) operational mastery with solid Record-to-Report (R2R) lifecycle experience.

  • Deep familiarity with IFRS, cross-regional statutory and management accounting mechanics, and strong knowledge of local Polish statutory compliance required for branch representation.

  • Advanced capability in operating model design, continuous improvement, and establishing data-driven KPI and SLA frameworks.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with resilience through complex technical rollouts and regional scope expansions.

  • Familiarity with SAP ECC / S/4HANA and specialised finance platforms (e.g., HighRadius) is a plus.

  • A strong drive to explore, experiment with, and actively roll out AI solutions to continuously optimise financial shared services.

  • Fluency in both English (corporate language) and Polish is required.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Continental Europe (Netherlands, France), the UK, and MENA regions.

About the team.

You will join a growing Finance Shared Services Centre of approximately 40 professionals, structured across functional towers including Accounts Receivable, Credit & Risk, Data, and Reporting. You will report to the Senior Director Controllership, GB & EMENA Financial Accounting, and work closely with regional Finance leadership, global process owners, and the Finance Transformation team.
