Location: Warsaw (Preferred)
Reporting to: CEO, Goelett
Leadership Partnership: Head of Product (Two-in-a-Box Model)



About Goelett


Goelett is entering an exciting new phase of transformation as we build the central Product and Technology Hub for the S4BT Group. As part of this journey, we are redefining how product and engineering work together under one unified Product House and Value Stream framework.


The following leadership roles form the cornerstone of this transformation. They represent our commitment to stability through change, clarity of purpose, and a culture built around the right people in the right setup.


 


About Position


The Head of Development is a senior technology leader responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering organization that delivers secure, scalable, and reliable platforms powering the S4BT ecosystem.


Working in a two-in-a-box partnership with the Head of Product, you will translate strategic priorities into technology execution, balancing innovation, operational excellence, and long-term platform sustainability.


You will also play a key role in Goelett's evolution into the central Product and Technology Hub of the S4BT Group, working closely with executive leadership and the Group CISO to establish modern engineering and governance practices.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Engineering Leadership & Development



  • Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional agile squads, fostering collaboration among developers, testers, and technical support teams.

  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within each squad.

  • Ensure alignment of all technical teams with the overall product strategy and business goals.

  • Establish clear performance goals and ensure teams deliver on sprint commitments and quality standards.


2. Product Development & Delivery



  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of product initiatives, from planning and prioritization through to release and post-launch support.

  • Translate the product roadmap into clear technical objectives and agile sprint plans.

  • Collaborate closely with Head of Product to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and timely delivery.

  • Drive adoption of working backwards concept in agile teams ensuring consistent execution across squads.

  • Monitor velocity, cycle times, and quality metrics to optimize delivery processes.


3. Quality Assurance & Technical Excellence



  • Lead testing and QA efforts in Goelett ensuring robust coverage and product reliability.

  • Implement and maintain development standards, code review processes, and release management protocols.


4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management



  • Communicate development progress, risks, and dependencies transparently to leadership.

  • Collaborate with technical support teams to ensure seamless handover from development to production and efficient incident resolution always with customer-centric vision.


5. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement



  • Identify and implement tools, workflows, and automation that enhance team productivity.

  • Analyze product and process performance to drive iterative improvements.

  • Foster a learning environment through retrospectives, training, and experimentation.



KEY COMPETENCES:



  • Deep experience in SaaS, Cloud, and enterprise-grade architecture.

  • Proven track record in technology transformation and modernization.

  • Strong people leadership and organizational development skills.

  • Excellent communication and alignment with non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with operational execution discipline.


Experience



  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant leadership experience in senior engineering management roles.

  • Proven track record of building and scaling distributed engineering organizations.

  • Strong foundation in .NET, Azure, and API-driven platforms.

  • Experience in payments, travel, or financial technology sectors is an advantage.


KPIs



  • Platform uptime and performance metrics.

  • Reduction of technical debt and modernization progress.

  • Delivery velocity and predictability.

  • Cross-functional satisfaction (product, operations, and stakeholders).
