Job Description - IT Architect

We are looking for an IT Architect to support the design and development of complex enterprise IT systems, application and data architecture within a financial services environment. The role focuses on defining architectural standards, designing scalable solutions using SOA, REST APIs, and ESB integrations, and preparing technical documentation and models with Enterprise Architect, UML, BPMN 2.0, and TOGAF principles. The architect will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and development teams to guide technology decisions, support system implementations, and ensure architectural consistency across enterprise applications and integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise IT system architecture

• Build solutions based on SOA and REST architecture

• Design application and data architecture

• Prepare architectural concepts and technical solutions

• Support IT projects during design and implementation

• Review and validate proposed technical solutions

• Create and maintain architecture documentation

• Manage the enterprise architecture repository

• Develop and maintain IT architecture standards

• Define and review architectural principles

• Prepare UML and BPMN diagrams

• Work with business teams to understand requirements

• Cooperate with Analysts and Development Teams

• Support technology decisions and solution selection

• Advise stakeholders on application integration and data management

• Ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture principles

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years commercial experience in an equivalent IT Architect role

• Practical enterprise architecture experience

• Strong understanding of application architecture

• Strong understanding of data architecture

• Experience designing enterprise IT systems

• SOA architecture

• REST-based integrations

• Experience with system integration and enterprise service buses (ESB)

• Enterprise Architect tool

• UML modelling and documentation

• BPMN 2.0

• Knowledge of TOGAF

• Experience creating architecture documentation

• Experience defining architectural standards and principles

• Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work across multiple projects and teams

• Higher technical education in IT or a related field

Nice to have

• Banking or financial services experience

• Leasing industry experience

• Experience in international IT projects

• Enterprise architecture governance

• Experience managing architecture repositories

• Complex enterprise integration environments

• Data management architecture

• Experience supporting IT transformation programmes

• TOGAF certification
