Platform Engineer (contract)

Job Description

Based in Wroclaw, Poland, you’ll build innovative tools that digitize and automate communications monitoring and review. You’ll help deliver a new in-house electronic communications surveillance platform spanning unstructured-data processing, model-driven alert generation, and a user interface for alert review and disposition. 

Location: Wrocław

Work mode: hybrid, 3 days a week from the office

Responsibilities:

• automate operational processes and recurring support activities using Unix tools, Bash scripting and Azure services
• support, monitor and troubleshoot applications, restoring service quickly and addressing root causes
• build and maintain Azure-based data workflows and integrations, including solutions using PostgreSQL and Azure Data Factory
• improve application reliability through observability, resilient design, operational documentation and production-readiness practices
• deliver secure, maintainable and compliant solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements
• use AI-assisted development tools where helpful, with appropriate quality, security and human oversight; prior experience is desirable but not required

Requirements:

• solid PostgreSQL experience, including SQL, troubleshooting and operational support
• strong Unix skills and practical Bash scripting experience for automation, deployment and operational support
• experience with Azure Data Factory for data integration, orchestration and operational monitoring
• DevOps experience across source control, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, preferably using GitLab
• experience automating repetitive tasks and diagnosing incidents across distributed applications
• experience with Elasticsearch and/or Cloudera

Nice to have:

• Java development experience
• experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, troubleshooting or documentation; this is valued but not essential
